'Cat Fuller’s stripped-back set communicates ostentatious power with a few well-chosen touches – golden taps on a sink, damask divans and a huge modernist chandelier swaying overhead. The stage itself is painted in fiery streaks radiating out from a dark central hub like an explosive blast or a reddened, ever-watchful eye.'

The STAGE

'Cat Fuller’s design is lively, – a fiery sunburst across the floor and walls, adorned with dusty Kremlin sofas and a basin with distinctly un-egalitarian gold taps.'

EVENING STANDARD

'The Orange Tree pulses with memorable tight production values to match the acting. Designer Cat Fuller’s props and a rising-sun motif is painted on the floor (echoing Stalin’s palace), some singular props appearing in its radial centre.'

PLAYS INTERNATIONAL

'Designer Cat Fuller’s set has a wavy sunburst floor pattern, which evokes war as well as the Reds, and a golden chandelier, a symbol of the frugal leader’s wish to impress visitors.''
